Penetration Test and Red Team

Penetration testing and red team activities help organizations detect security vulnerabilities on their information systems and close them. These activities are used to determine how effective an organization's security measures are. In addition, regular penetration testing and red team activities by organizations are an important step to be prepared for cyber attacks and to minimize risks.

Penetration testing is a security test performed to detect security vulnerabilities in an organization's information systems and to exploit these vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to the system. Penetration tests can be performed internally within an organization or by an external security firm. The findings obtained as a result of the penetration test are used for the organization to close the security gaps in the information systems.

Red team, on the other hand, can be defined as a penetration testing activity against an organization. Red team is an attack scenario performed by the penetration testing team and is used to determine how effective an organization's security mechanisms are and the organization's level of readiness. Red team typically includes a more comprehensive and advanced scenario than penetration testing activities.
